Rema cofounded Ankur with a vision to use her multi decade CXO and entrepreneurial experience to bring the tools to young startups to become game changers. She has worked across education and IT/ITES taking young companies from scratch to midsize ventures. She is a cost accountant from ICFAI and when she has spare time she likes to travel and try her hand at growing plants.

Ritu is one of the co-founders at Ankur. She is passionate about bringing innovation from lab to the market and did that for a decade across corporates - Unilever and Philips. She has also worked globally investing in IP led renewable technologies. She has a PhD in physics from University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from INSEAD. If Ritu had any spare time she’d love to travel to all ends of the earth and read a few books.

Krishnan focuses on formulating strategic growth plans for Ankur. He has nearly two decades of experience across financial markets, investment research, and social development consulting. In his previous stints, Krishnan headed research for CLSA Asia-Pacific in India before turning to social consulting with Samhita Social Ventures.

Shiva Shanker is a Partner at Ankur Capital. Shiva started investing in India’s early-stage startups in 2010 & has worked closely with 20+ early-stage startups. Since joining Ankur Capital in 2017, Shiva has led climate-focused investments and continues to facilitate debt partnerships for portfolio companies, develop the firm’s analytical models, and mentor junior investors.

Shiva spent five years at Grassroots Business Fund. His investees included Jaipur Rugs and Industree Crafts, acquired by Future Group. He also served as Head of Revenue at TARAurja, a technology-enabled energy services and utility startup in tier 3 and tier 4 India.

An operator-turned-investor, Vishal has been a part of India’s early stage startup ecosystem for 10+ years. At Ankur, Vishal leads tech investments with primary focus on Fintech, AI, Robotics and Industrial Automation, and works closely with portfolio companies leveraging his operator experience to help them succeed. Previously, Vishal held leadership roles at Ok Credit and Belong.co, across their strategy, business and operations. An engineer from IIT Kanpur, he also enjoys vibe-coding and tinkering with tools, advising founders, off-roading on his bike, and reading history and geopolitics extensively.

A  scientist-turned-investor, Vishal leverages his technical background to drive  science-based investing at Ankur. He has a Physics PhD, during which he  worked on using quantum resources for improved sensing technology. Vishal is  an overall curious soul: you can almost always find him reading omnivorously.  He also enjoys being creative in the culinary arts, with a passion for  cooking, baking, and fermentation.

A biotechnologist-turned-investor, Suraj comes with a cross disciplinary industry experience in biopharma and healthcare consulting to drive deep science investments at Ankur. Suraj has a masters in bioprocess technology, post which he worked in the biopharma industry, developing monoclonal antibodies for cancer therapy.

He has also worked on consulting projects in the cardiovascular medical devices and diagnostics industry. Suraj loves writing and actively writes short stories. He is also a part time theatre artist and often spends his weekends performing improv theatre shows.

Debansh  focuses on identifying and underwriting early-stage investments at Ankur. His  career spans investment banking, venture philanthropy, and operations across  agri-tech, consumer, education, and pharma, working with founders in product,  business development, and Chief of Staff functions.

At Biome, he co-lead  design the venture studio process that later successfully raised US$10Mn.  Raised across Australia and the US, Debansh is an alumnus of Ashoka  University and the Jindal School of Banking & Finance.

Outside work, he  is a health and skincare enthusiast, student of investing history, and firmly  believes Calvin & Hobbes is an underrated guide to life.

Burzin is COO at Ankur Capital. Burzin spent over three decades advising companies on operational risk, governance, and process transformation. He led the technology-led transformation of Deloitte India’s Internal Audit practice for a 1,300+ strong team, and co-founded Axis Risk Consulting, leading to its acquisition by a US-listed company.

Burzin is a former President of the Institute of Internal Auditors, India and Fulbright Fellow, and a Chartered Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, and Certified Fraud Examiner. Away from COO duties, Burzin is a three-time Mumbai Inter-Club cricket champion and captains the Bombay Gymkhana members’ and PE/VC CFO organisation’s teams.

Siddhi Khabia is the Senior Manager - Legal, Compliance & Fund Governance at Ankur Capital, with over five years of experience across compliance and legal role. She is a Qualified Company Secretary and Law graduate, overseeing regulatory compliance, legal function, and governance.

Sama leads marketing and brand at Ankur Capital, driving content, founder narratives and ecosystem initiatives. Previously, she led growth for the "activities" business at BookMyShow. She has also worked across venture capital, startups and media, including roles at Disruptors Capital and Entrepreneur Media. Earlier, she co-founded DownToDash, a New York-based social startup that crossed 100,000 downloads. Sama has written for Forbes, HuffPost and Inc. She holds an MSc in Marketing and Strategy from Warwick Business School.

Preetha Rony is a seasoned C-suite Executive Support and Office Administration professional with over 15 years of experience partnering with CEOs and senior leadership teams. She brings deep expertise in complex calendar and priority management, high-level executive coordination, and confidential stakeholder engagement, supporting leadership effectiveness through structured operations, HR and talent acquisition support, and financial and vendor oversight.
